If you read our previous posts you may think that we are obsessed with Donald J. Trump. We are not obsessed with him per-say as much as we are obsessed with injustice and patterns that exist in society in the macro and the micro, that seem to harm everyday people at the expense of the few. And as hard as it is to attribute any diabolical psychological or sociological skill to Donald J. Trump in terms of him being calculating, a Russian plant, or even a “great” business man for that matter the evidence seems to the contrary. Although the jury is still out on him being a Russian plant. The one attribute that we have to give him is that he is one of the greatest bullshitter’s to ever live, if not the greatest bullshitter to ever live. To have done what he has done for as long as he has done it, must on some level be respected even by the most cynical of us. Also for him to have the ability to this to still be able to convince others to do his bidding, be it voting for him, representing him, or paying his bond is a dark magic to say the least.

Carl Jung’s work on Archetypes stresses that for every Archetype their is a shadow side. For this post we will reference the Magician Archetype, also known as the Sorcerer, Wizard, Shaman, Crone, etc. We will use the word Sorcerer in reference. An Archetype is a representation or model if you will of persons, their behaviors, and personalities, that are universal in all cultures. From our ancestors until now archetypes have played a role in human behavior, actually and culturally. The Sorcerer/Magician archetype is the most popular and prevalent archetype in the world. Think Merlin, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Gandalf, more often than not the cultural motif of the Sorcerer archetype has been that of an old man, who has gone off from society, studied the subtle patterns of life with in their selves and with in the world, to show others a better way when one seems invisible . In part the characteristics of the Sorcerer is to seek, understand and implement transformation first with in themselves and then if willing with in their community or society as a whole. However not just rudimentary transformation but significant and profound transformation dare we say life changing. The problem with transformation is that it can lead one to relish in the seduction of ego and hubris and can cause one to become self delusional. Allowing the Sorcerer to believe that they are greater than anyone in comparison to all others, because they have gone through said transformation. This is the lure of the shadow aspect of the Sorcerer, to use their knowledge and power to become manipulative and self-serving at the risk of others and sometimes themselves.

To pursue self transformation is a lonely and difficult task, and not all who come out on the other side of it have the best intentions for society at large. The process can cause resentment in the weak. The Sorcerer in the pursuit of transformation becomes adept at using technology, symbolism, ritual, and patterns to implement said transformation. The choice for better or worse is ultimately up to them.

Knowledge is one of the Sorcerers greatest commodities, and be they on the side of the just or just in it for themselves, knowledge isn’t something that is shared casually. However the coveting of knowledge can be used for two reasons to protect or too manipulate. Does the phrase, “I alone can fix it” ring any bells? Again we are not saying that Donald J. Trump went to Wizard school or is truly a financial Guru, again all the evidence points to the opposite. What kind of Wizard loses money from running a casino? We are saying that Donald J. Trump does have all the attributes of the Shadow Sorcerer and he has opened a door or portal if you will that has allowed more Shadow Sorcerers to walk into our lives through the technology of “social media.”

The individual aspects of the Shadow Sorcerer are one who is arrogant, entitled and one that has an elevated sense of superiority. Usually a person with hubris on steroids, they are heavily invested in persona, illusion, and creating deceptive realities in order to main their investment in appearance of being knowledgeable and powerful. Donald J. Trump has used the persona of a Gordon Gecco and multiplied it by ten. He has also used secrecy a common tool of both the Light and Shadow Sorcerers. Although as a tool for the Shadow Sorcerer, secrecy takes advantage of want, need, desperation. The Shadow Sorcerer is great at manipulating desperation, and will put anyone on a leash that desperately wants something they believe that the Shadow Sorcerer can give them. Of course, most people don’t see the Shadow, they just see the Sorcerer and the magic that they believe they will experience. They are looking through the lenses of desperation. Desperation is often rooted in fear, anger, and hatred. All those attributes open up one to desperation. So through those eyes, they see someone they want to associate with and identify with, or someone who has the magic potion to cure their desperation and those roots. The Shadow Sorcerer will never show or exude personal vulnerability, they will pretend to “self-martyr” and claim that they are sacrificing for you, while they require that others always sacrifice for them. They will pretend to posses a knowledge that is so esoteric, that just by being in their presence something anything may be revealed. The easiest and laziest way to manipulate someone is to pretend that you have a knowledge that they don’t, especially when that someone wants it and they believe that you have it. Then you slowly and carefully tease it out. Donald J. Trump covets the status, without consequence and if anyone suffers any consequence it is the fault of their own not the Shadow Sorcerer. The Shadow Sorcerer once successful in deception and deceit will milk that cow until she is bone dry or even dead. Knowledge has always been worth something, the Sorcerer will tell you that it takes time unless you are an anomaly to attain true knowledge, the Shadow Sorcerer will tell you that it takes a week or two, in order to acquire the knowledge but they will never give it to you. Just for the record true transformation has never taken a week or two.

We live in a world where the possession of knowledge can be commodified for the benefit of a few at the expense of many. Trump through out his life has claimed to have knowledge that others don’t and he has exploited the desperation or will of others that want to associate with him to his benefit. The majority of the associates of Trump or even family members for that matter do not walk away unscathed or pure. To have a secret knowledge would give one power, and if one watched the patterns in individuals and society at large, said knowledge could be used to manipulate people. Trump consciously or unconsciously know this, and this is his way and this is his practice. And to his credit he has been practicing this for a very long time.

People believe/believed that Trump was this incredible real estate tycoon, he coveted and cultivated that persona to not only manipulate those close to him but society at large. He saw the racist patterns forming in American society after the election of Barack Hussein Obama, and tailored the fears, anger, and yes even hate into a Sorcerer’s robe of xenophobia and grievance that brought him to the White House. The Shadow Sorcerer utilizes knowledge and power for selfish and destructive purposes solely. The Shadow Sorcerer misuses technology and lacks any ethical considerations, when one thinks of Donald J. Trump do we actually think of any ethical consideration, such as valor, honor, or honesty? We know the answer is a resounding no. We see this play out in the MAGA world and in the Republican party. If the Shadow Sorcerer lies, has no honor, and manipulates then his followers will do the same. Trump is the symbol of white grievance and fear and he knows this either consciously or intuitively and the Shadow Sorcerer will use symbology to their benefit at all cost. Trump during his presidency did everything a Shadow Sorcerer would do, unleashed chaos, manipulated, and caused many to suffer inadvertently. And if he is elected again and doesn’t go to jail, he will take the “Ring of Power,” also known as American Democracy and destroy all that is good and just not only in America but the world.

When you see someone as ubiquitous as Donald J. Trump is now and was as president one could make the mistake of believing that his attributes are necessary for that same attention or as we said ubiquity. We see this all playing out more prevalently in the current New Age or Now Age movement. One could go down a never ending rabbit hole, of YouTube Guru, Tik-Tok Mystics and Instagram Shaman’s, making claims at a time when authenticity is no longer a criteria for people in government or people in the so called “spiritual” movements, two subjects we care a lot about, and we get concerned. Now don’t get us wrong charlatans have always existed in the political and spiritual realm, it’s just that now we have so many because technology has made it easier for them to reach more people and in turn, sell more snake oil. We believe that the symbology and ubiquity of Donald J. Trump has made it easier for every Tik-Tok mystic and You-Tube guru to present themselves as an authentic alternative to the Shadows that he Trump casted of America, if not the world. So many of us act like their never was a plague, excuse us a pandemic during his presidency, and he managed it terribly. So if and when there is uncertainty during a pandemic and people are isolated they seek solution but this is nothing new. We can’t tell you how many books that we’ve read and researched from Carl Jung, to Fritjof Capra, to Naomi Klein proclaiming that their time of confusion was the worst time and that is why they were writing their book.

As those quotes from those books and the books themselves convey what we are seeing in our world today is not unique to our time and place in history, what is unique is the ability for us to see it all, in so many ways, in real time, even in the palms of our hand. This may cause many to feel anxious and apprehensive. So by default Shadows will try to fill in the void where only the light should shine.

We believe it is our job to watch patterns and yes look for signs in the political, cultural, and spiritual spheres if not for the one or two of you that read this blog, but for ourselves as well. And yes there is a pattern of Shadows walking into rooms of light, claiming that they can bring back the very light that they are blocking. If you see this like we do then all we ask is that you don’t give up, that you don’t succumb, and that you continue to shine. Again it may seem difficult to be authentic in an inauthentic world, however we believe that by being authentic, you can seek and see authenticity, and by extension keep the Shadow Sorcerers at bay, if not impotent. The doors maybe open to shadows to occupy spaces in our democracy, or places of spiritual interests but we are doing our small part to keep the windows open or if we have to, knock down a wall or two. We want to make sure that some will still see the light of critical thought. And yes we will do so here first by being more consistent. Thank You. Look for us right here every Tuesday from now on.
