So much has happened since our last post, we’ve had so many thoughts, ideas, and predictions but we’re going to take a step back, and then a step forward. It was very hard for us to watch the Republican National Convention, why would anyone want to belong to or go to a party where everyone is aggrieved, fearful, performative, and hateful. And we believe none of those words are hyperbolic at this point and if you watched the RNC convention it’s just fact. Why would you want or why would you give America, the job to someone when they are so obviously miserable doing it? Especially when said individual tells us they don’t have to. We hate clichés, but if there ever was an example of misery loving company then watching the RNC convention would prove that. The one thing that was missing at the RNC convention in 2024 was a reference to the past a nod to the old guard. There were no Bushes, Reagans, or Romneys at the RNC, and if they were there we missed it but were not going back to go check, and feel free to correct us. Our point is that there was no nostalgia, which is the most missing and glaring absence. If your trademark is to make America great again and you have no one from the past to cosign that moment at your convention or to speak to America’s past greatness then it’s just a popped balloon. Donald J. Trump has burned bridges between himself and the past standard bearers of the Republican guard. He made the biggest mistake of all by making it about himself, as which he is prone to do and will always do. That is to say for a person who wants to make America great again yet can’t reach back or showcase someone that represents that time then he has failed miserably.
So now we are here, and we must say this Democratic National Convention will be the best produced, executed and watched Democratic National Convention since they started recording national conventions. Imagine Jimmy Carter being on stage at the DNC. Imagine Bill Clinton being on the stage at the DNC. Imagine Hilary Clinton being on the stage at the DNC. Imagine Michelle Obama being on stage at the DNC. Imagine Barack Obama being on stage at the DNC. Imagine the selfless Joe Biden being on stage at the DNC. Our point is that what the Democratic Party has now to exploit, for good cause is legacy. We can’t wait to see AOC’s speech as well if she does so. When History is made it is good to see where History continued as it continues. This I think is the biggest mistake the Trump and the RNC made, may be it wasn’t a mistake at all, his hubris and ego has just placed him in this position. However if anything Trump doesn’t want to be “out produced,” if you will. So as we watch this moment unfold it almost seems scripted, some on the left were wringing their hands after the debate between Biden and Trump, others wanted Biden gone completely. We were going to vote Biden if he was in a wheelchair. Then Trump “miraculously”survives an assassination attempt and then has the time to rise up and be in one of the most iconic pictures in history. But that didn’t last long, Biden steps down Kamala steps up and the world is paying attention to her. As far as we know and as of this post there are just as many bridges being built towards her, as have been burned by Donald J. Trump.
Martin Luther King Jr. once said that America is essentially a dream, and we believe that every dream needs a bridge. Or maybe every dream is a bridge. A bridge between the probable and the possible, a bridge between what was and what could be. Donald J. Trump is a bridge back to a time and a place that we couldn’t return to even if we all truly wanted to. Sentiment for something that never existed is just that, nostalgia. The only thing or purpose that we should be nostalgic about is now. How do we make now the greatest moment, and in that moment how do we create more nows? Well, one way is to build bridges. Bridges that extend from then to now, and then now again. Trump and the RNC want all roads and bridges to lead to Trump or the MAGA Rome, and we know what happened to Rome. Rome created a faith called Christianity in order to remain in power, but in truth and reality God is Black and also a Woman.
